Club Penguin Private Servers

Playing a Club Penguin Private Server (CPPS) is an effective way of experiencing the original Club Penguin.

A CPPS can offer most to all of the features from the original Club Penguin including: being able to explore the island, play mini-games, purchase items to dress your penguin and decorate your igloo, adopt puffles, etc.

The most common way to play a CPPS is through finding one made by another fan or team of people and published online. They are usually available to play via a website but due to the discontinuation of Flash Player some can only be played through downloading the game. They are most preferred by people as they are easy to access and they also ‘feel’ like the original Club Penguin, to an extent, due to having multiplayer and constant updates. However, there are a few issues with these private servers as there are concerns with safety and owners intentions. As these servers are run by individuals not associated with Disney they usually lack high levels of security that the original Club Penguin had. This has resulted with database breaches along with other security incidents in the past with some servers. In addition, some owners run private servers with bad intentions like profiting off of Disney’s assets or other illegal behaviour. These reasons are why we are unable to recommend a specific CPPS and therefore suggest that you research before signing up to a game.

Another way of playing a CPPS is to set up your own localhost server. This is usually more complex to do, especially since the discontinuation of Flash Player, but safer to run as you are in control of the server. They are arguably less fun to play as it will be single-player and will not receive constant updates. We are not able to guide with setting up a server but tutorials are available online for how to do so.
